Join the Thrive Squad for the Dublin City Council Dublin City Half Marathon
We’re looking for a small group of everyday runners to become part of the Dublin City Council Dublin City Half Marathon Thrive Squad, a social-first community that celebrates real runners, real lives and real journeys to race day.
This is about sharing an honest training journey that others can relate to, be inspired by, and see themselves in.
If selected, you’ll be supported throughout the build-up to race day and featured across Dublin City Council Dublin City.
Who Can Enter
Applications are open to runners aged 18+ of all experience levels, whether or not you currently have a race entry. You don’t need to be part of a club or have a large following just a willingness to share your journey authentically.
Application Timeline
The 2026 Thrive Squad has been selected and applications for next year’s race will begin in early 2027.

What We Ask From You
- Share your training journey with the Dublin City Council Dublin City Half Marathon team across the 5-month build-up to race day
(approx. 2–3 posts per month plus weekly story-style updates for publishing on official event channels, with credit and tagging) - Take part in planned content moments where possible
(e.g. coach check-ins, group sessions or key training milestones) - Participate in an interview with a freelance journalist to capture your background and help sense-check media readiness
- Make yourself available for up to two media interviews, subject to availability and media readiness

Who Should Apply?
We’re looking for runners from all backgrounds and experiences first-timers, returners, social runners, confidence-builders and those balancing running with busy lives. You don’t need to lead a group or coach others we’re simply looking for people whose journeys others can relate to.
